Let the entertainment begin!

Updated: Now with actual videos!

Yes, it's the post you've all been waiting for. The complete Malia Dance Recital experience. We'll start with a couple of teaser pictures from the dances:

I'm not going to caption each of the videos. They are the individual dances that were done. Malia is in the back left corner for each of them. Keep an eye out for the wardrobe malfunctions. She tends to have one in nearly every dance.

Not a post with dance recital videos

This isn't the post where I put up the pictures of Malia's dance recital. I've still not yet uploaded them from my camera. I've been a bit allergy-y. Yeah, that's not a word, but I don't care. I am posting an update to the Great Weight Loss Plan of 2008. Not to be confused with the Great Toilet Repair of 2008. Very similar though in that I'm working to fix something and get rid of the icky parts. Haha, I crack myself up.

Anyway, the update part:
  1. I finally lost some weight that registered on the scale. Only 4 pounds but it's a start.
  2. My body fat percentage has gone down .5%.
  3. My pants and shirts are getting loose.
  4. I got to go down a row of hooks when putting on my fresh from the wash bra yesterday morning. Boys won't really get why this is good, but the girls know what I mean.
  5. I was less out of breath than usual after wandering about the zoo for several hours on Sunday.
They aren't really big accomplishments by any means, but it's a good start.

For the Malia lovers, more Malia-isms from Sunday evening.

"Mom, I wish I could be macaroni and cheese and then I would eat myself all up because I was so tasty."
"Mom, you are the best mom ever because you took me to the zoo. Even though you pretended that I was a monkey and you were taking me home."

I would like to note that I did not tell her that I was taking her home. I did call her a crazy little monkey and somehow her brain made the above translation.

I am calling you out JC

JC and I were texting the other day about being fat. According to the BMI index thingie, he is 60 pounds overweight. I am 135 overweight. Obviously, I am way more fat than he is. He challenged me to race him to losing the weight. I'm happy to note that I have taken that challenge and have also taken steps to grind him into the dust. Especially since texting last week he let me know that he gained 5, while I stayed even.

I have not only joined the gym and have been attending each evening for a few weeks, but last night I worked with a personal trainer for the first time. I've decided to get rid of internet at home in order to spend the money on a personal trainer once every other week. Part of that plan gives me a pre-defined workout and diet plan to get going. I figure by going to the gym and doing a workout like I had last night (my butt and thighs really hurt) I won't have the energy to want to surf around on the internet when I get home. I'm just going to want to sit in the swimming pool and let Malia play. She's beyond excited that the pool is opening soon. It'll be open starting Memorial Day weekend and they've just finished up refinishing and re-tiling so it's all fresh and beautiful.

I've digressed a bit. In talking with the trainer, I found out that if I follow the plan, I can be down to my ultimate goal of losing 135 (maybe even more, we'll see how I look) in a year.
So JC, you have a year to lose your 65! As I'm totally excited about this, I'll probably be posting updates at least monthly. I'll be doing body measurements that often with the trainer.

Get cracking JC because I'm going to beat you even though I have twice the amount to lose!

And for those of you who only really read this for the rugrat pictures and updates, here you go:

Sometimes Malia comes up with the oddest things. Some random thoughts she's shared with me lately.

--Mom, I wish I were a dolphin. They are so beautiful. Even though they are gray and that's not really a beautiful color

--Sometimes I wish I could be a balloon and then float up over the top of everything and look down. Then I get to pop, and I think that would feel really cool.

--Someday I really will ride a unicorn, even if I have to build one myself.

--I wish I were paint. Then someone could make a pretty picture out of me.

Needless to say I am very entertained, yet also a little weirded out that she wants to pop like a balloon. I'm not sure how to interpret that one.
